The makers of Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Padmaavat (formerly Padmavati) moved the Supreme Court on January 17, after the film was banned in the states of Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The decision of these four states was challenged in SC in which the apex court's verdict was in the favour of the film. On Thursday morning, SC lifted the ban on Padmaavat imposed by the four states, further stating that no other state can impose a ban on the film which has already been cleared for release. 

 

Not just the team of Padmaavat, but the indusrtry too has welcomed the SC verdict on the film. Some of the B-Towm celebs took to their Twitter account to share their views. 

 

Ayushmann Khurrana wrote, "Best news of the day which restores faith in our democracy : Supreme Court suspends ban imposed by 4 states on #Padmaavat, restrains other states from issuing similar orders."

Milap Zaveri tweeted, "Bravo to the Supreme Court of India! Every Indian should have the right to decide for themselves if they want to see #Padmaavat without being dictated to! #BanTheBan "

 

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarker shared, "I Welcome The Honorable Supreme Court's decision of withdrawing the ban on #Padmavat..Congrats to the Entire team !!" 

Producer Manish Mundra tweeted, "Banning the film #Padmaavat even after CBFC certification was a cowardly act by those states. Just were trying to do vote bank politics and or shying away from their responsibilities of managing law and order. #SupremeCourt"

Ashoke Pandit posted a video message, hailing the SC verdict and wrote alongside, "Thank U #SupremeCourt for lifting the ban on the release of the film #Padmavat. A great day for the freedom of expression of a #Filmmaker.
