Amitabh Bachchan shared an unseen throwback picture, seemingly from the 80s, where he was sharing the stage with Rekha, Raj Kapoor, and Shammi Kapoor.
Amitabh Bachchan shared a grainy old picture of himself with several other Bollywood celebs from the 80s on Sunday. The photo contained the late Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, and Rekha, standing with Bachchan and the other celebs on a stage. The superstar hinted that there was a ‘huge story’ behind the picture and that he would narrate it someday.
On Sunday, Amitabh Bachchan took to his Tumblr blog and shared a bunch of pictures and videos from his weekly meet and greet with fans, where he could be seen waving to them from the gate of his bungalow Jalsa. Below them, Amitabh shared another image, this one slightly older. The picture, most likely taken from a social media page sharing old photos, shows Amitabh on a stage with the mic in his hand, waving to the crowd. Raj Kapoor is standing next to him with Rekha and Shammi Kapoor a little distance away, along with other members from the film industry.
Sharing the picture, the star wrote, “and .. aaahhh .. there is a huge story behind this photograph .. some day it shall be narrated.” However, he did not specify the nature of the story or what it was about, and did not clarify where the picture was taken and what was the occasion.
Amitabh and Rekha’s history
Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha worked together in a number of films in the 70s and 80s, starting with Mr Natwarlal up to Silsila. There were strong rumours of an affair between the two as well, which was, however, never confirmed. Neither star has opened up in detail about their personal equation in decades. Amitabh has been married to Jaya Bachchan for over 50 years now. The couple has two kids – actor Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda.
