Agastya Nanda, who made his Bollywood debut with the teen musical drama The Archies last month, has finally made his debut on Instagram on Thursday, January 11. Grandson of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan and son of Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Nikhil Nanda, Agastya shared a photo of himself without any caption as his first post on the photo sharing app.

He received a warm welcome from the Bollywood celebrities. His mom Shweta replied to him in the comments, "Love and hugs baby boy", while his sister Navya Nanda wrote "Welcome". His uncle Abhishek Bachchan responded with a hugs emoji, while Arjun Kapoor wrote, "Welcome Aggy Boy!!!".

Zoya Akhtar, who directed his debut film The Archies, replied, "Big hug", and added a hugs emoji. The Netflix film also marked the debuts of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's daughter Suhana Khan, and Boney Kapoor and late Sridevi's daughter Khushi Kapoor. Gauri also welcomed Agastya as she wrote, "Big hug", and added a hugs emoji.

Before the streaming release of The Archies in December 2023, Agastya had begun shooting for his second film titled Ikkis. The war drama is the biopic of the 1971 Indo-Pak war hero Arun Khetarpal, who was martyred during the Battle of Basantar and was the youngest recipient of Param Vir Chakra at the age 21. Ikkis is being directed by Sriram Raghavan of Andhadhun fame.

In a recent interview with Scroll, the filmmaker revealed why he cast Agastya for Arun's biopic. "We were looking for an actor who could play a 21-year-old character, who had that innocence. When I met Agastya one-and-a-half years ago, he reminded me of Amitabh Bachchan from Saat Hindustani. Then he began working in The Archies. I see a lot of promise in him", the director said.
