In two separate incidents, three persons were killed after being hit by two speeding buses in the city since Saturday night.

In a hit-and-run case, an 18-year-old PU student was killed after being mowed down by a BMTC bus on Nrupatunga Road on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Abdulla Kareem, a resident of Bhoopasandra near Hebbal. The incident took place at 11.45am when Kareem and his friend Masood, who was riding pillion, were going towards Hudson Circle from KR Circle.

The duo fell on the road after the bike skidded. A BMTC bus ran over Kareem, killing him instantly.

The police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Victoria Hospital, where the postmortem was conducted.

Masood, who sustained injuries, was admitted to a nearby hospital.

“A case has been registered and we are trying to identify the bus that fled the scene after the accident,” an investigative officer said.
In another incident, a mother-son duo was killed after being run over by a KSRTC bus in Avalahalli village, Doddaballapur Road, near Yelahanka, on Saturday night.

The deceased, T Basavarajamma, 52, and R Lokesh, 26, were residents of Magadi Road.

According to the police, the incident took place at 8.50am when the two were on their way to Doddaballapur. When the KSRTC bus hit the bike, Lokesh, who was riding, lost balance and fell on the road along with his mother.

The bus ran over the two, killing them instantly.

The police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to Yelahanka Government Hospital.
