The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police on Friday arrested two persons for allegedly stealing batteries from traffic signal lights. About 60 batteries worth Rs3.6 lakh were recovered from them.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police on Friday arrested two persons for allegedly stealing batteries from traffic signal lights. About 60 batteries worth Rs3.6 lakh were recovered from them.
The accused have been identified as Syed Javed, 28, and Jamir Pasha, 25. They are residents of Bommanahalli.
Police said three others, Jamir, Fairoz and Asif, are absconding.
Investigations revealed that the accused have been stealing batteries for six years to make easy money. They have stolen batteries from Ulsoor Gate, Madiwala, Koramangala, Adugodi, and HSR Layout police stations limits. The traffic police had filed a complaint, after which the case was transferred to the CCB police.
