Are you a student of Bangalore University (BU) keen to see how you have fared in an examination? Soon, you could make an application to see your answer script, and you could view how you were graded online. No need at all to depend on the postal service for this facility anymore.
BU is thinking of introducing the online process for the provision of photocopies of answer scripts. Sources from the university said that a proposal to start such a system is under discussion. It is expected to be finalized soon.
“This is to avoid delay in providing students access to the photocopies of their answer scripts. The online process will be effective in reducing the time, so we are thinking of introducing it,” a BU official said.
Here is how the new system will work — requests could be made for online access to answer scripts to the examination wing of BU. Once a request is received, the BU could upload answer scripts on its website, after scanning.
“The student will be provided a password to open the web page,” said a source. Even the fee collection for the procedure could be done online. The facility will offer students that option too.
“This system would help rural students. Even if we send the photocopied answer scripts through registered post, it is often delayed. The cost for getting material through registered post is also quite steep. The online process would be cheaper, more time efficient, and easier,” an official explained.
Every year, BU receives at least 15,000 applications requesting a photocopy of the answer script. Srujana, a post-graduate student at the university, said, “The online procedure could make the whole thing faster. It will really help us. It is nice that the university is coming up with such a process.”
BU had introduced a process that allows students to get their degree certificates online. From this academic year, students can get their degree certificates online; the original will be sent to them by post within a month.
