Trust village commonsense to make sense of order. The lunch during the Day V of the Congress padayatra on Thursday was simple and arrangements were well coordinated at Kora village in Tumkur district.

For a change there was no ragi mudde. It was a bit watery bisibelebath, methi bonda, jilebi and curd rice. All this was served in a school ground with a separate enclosure for VIPs. And there were barricaded counters for the aam janata. There were 15 counters and continuous announcements over the public address system to guide the public. The crowds were less compared to earlier days.

The night halt at CB (Seebi) was in the campus of the 800-year-old Narasimhaswamy temple. The arrangements for women members were inadequate and the bathrooms were woeful lacking. The Mahila Congress contingent is nearly 100 strong.

Some 40 went back to Tumkur to stay at the kalyan mantap where they had stopped over on Tuesday night.

The dinner attraction was hot avial. As the temple comes under Koratgere constituency, its MLA and the region's strongman, G Parameshwar, was personally supervising the supper. Since there was no public meeting, the dinner was served at 7pm to party workers. The top leadership came around 8.30pm. It was a subdued end to Day V.
