Three days after a fire broke out at the BMTF office in the BBMP premises, there is no clue about the cause of the blaze.

The BBMP is expecting a report in this regard from the police in a week. KR Niranjan, special commissioner, BBMP, who is heading the investigation team to ascertain the cause of fire, said the BBMP has retrieved the footage of 10 out of 14 CCTV cameras installed in the annex building and handed it to the Halasuru gate police station. He said the police have sought one week to go through the footage and submit a report. He added that for the past three days, officials from the Forensic Science Lab as well as electricity department have been examining the spot, taking samples, looking for clues. He said their reports will be submitted by Friday and then the BBMP can provide details of the investigation.

Servers safe
Besides gutting the BMTF office on Saturday night, the fire spread to the nearby IT department and audit cell too.

An IT department official said the fire did not damage any of the 14 servers, which are vital to important functions such as property tax, trade licence, birth and death module and Internet.
