The Government Medical Officers’ Association will go on a month-long protest from November 21 to press the government to accept its demands.

The association announced this decision on Saturday. During the protest, the officers will wear a black badge and not submit any reports to the government.

The protest will be held from November 21 to December 20. If the association’s demands are not accepted by the end of the protest, then all the doctors will assemble in Bangalore and decide what to do next.

The association said about 4,500 doctors from across the state would take part in the protest.

“We have met chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda and briefed him about our demands. He has said he will look into it but nothing has been done so far,” said Dr Ravindra HN, president of the association.

The association made it clear that the protest will not affect the patients.
