A 21-year-old woman ended her life on Tuesday by hanging in her house in Mico Layout police limits, allegedly for not being taken out by her husband to buy mehendi.

The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when her husband found her dead at 7.30am.

The deceased has been identified as Suraj Kuvar, a native of Gujarat. The police rushed to the spot on getting information and shifted the body for postmortem. They did not find any suicide note.

Kuvar had got married to Raju Singh, a native of Rajasthan, nine months ago. He is working as a water supplier in the city. She moved to the city four months ago to stay with her husband.

Singh’s brother and sister-in-law were also staying in the house and a few days ago, they had gone to native place. So, only Singh and his wife were in the house.

Kuvar had asked her husband on Tuesday morning to take her out to buy mehendi. He promised to do so in the evening, but reached home very late and shops had closed by then. She became angry and a quarrel broke out between the two.

She later locked herself inside a room and refused to open the door. She did not cook dinner either. Singh himself cooked food and went to sleep after dinner.

He woke up on Wednesday morning and found her hanging but could not open the door. He took the help of the house owner to break it open.
