The pre-university education (PUE) department is contemplating signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) to ensure that the CET 2012 schedule won’t be upset by any delay in the announcement of the results of the Class XII examinations conducted by these boards.

Every year, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is forced to wait for the announcement of the central board exam results, which usually come out well after the II PU results.

“We receive 100% data from the PU department on time. But we are facing trouble from other boards. This year we some how managed to announce CET results on time. But this may not be possible every year. Keeping this in mind, we are thinking of entering into an agreement with all the boards to get them to declare their results on time,” said Rashmi V, executive director, KEA.

“To tabulate the CET scores, we need to know the marks secured by candidates in Class XII examinations. We cannot declare CET results only for students belonging to the state board. We have to wait for other board results also to prepare the rank list,” another KEA official explained.
