Katta Subramanya Naidu seems to be getting used to life in Parappana Agrahara. The smile is back on his face with the former IT&BT minister looking relaxed in the jail on Wednesday.

He asked family members not to visit him in the jail anymore as their emotional outburst in the form of weeping makes him mentally disturbed.

Sources said, "Katta's wife came to the jail on Wednesday, but he told her not to come from tomorrow."

Katta instructed family members to send the food for him through followers.

The relaxed mood which Katta exhibited was also due to the increased facilities offered to him. Bending rules, authorities allowed the tainted minister to meet visitors inside the room of chief superintendent of the jail TH Lakshminarayana, a DIG rank official.

Lakshminarayana walked out of the room and only returned back after Katta finished meeting his visitors, according to sources.

As part of the increased facilities, Katta was provided with a television set after the release of a prisoner of foreign origin. Katta was also given a cot from the jail hospital as he suffers from back pain, Lakshminarayana said.

Katta also got a plastic chair. His corporator son Katta Jagadish and Ithasca managing director SV Srinivas still have to sit and sleep on the floor.

The day saw Katta eat homemade food for breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. Fruit juice also came from the house of the tainted former minister.

Like the previous day, ragi ball and little rice came from his house. Katta is a diabetic and avoids rice.

Jail authorities said Katta goes for a walk two times a day. He starts his morning walk around 7 am and continues it for 30 minutes. He also does some warm-up exercises.

Katta woke up around 4.30 am. He also took a nap around 1.45 pm. Medical tests were also conducted on him on Wednesday.
Media assaulted

Unruly scenes prevailed outside the prison as followers of Katta assaulted the mediamen capturing visuals of the scene outside the jail. A heated argument then ensued between the media and Katta's followers.

Over five corporators visited Katta in the jail.
