The Karnataka high court on Tuesday dismissed a writ petition filed by former Bangalore North tahsildar Ranganathaiah challenging the state government’s decision to transfer YB Krishna, who was serving as the election tahsildar in Ramanagaram DC office, without giving him an alternative post.

The division bench consisting of Justice BS Patil and Justice B Manohar directed the petitioner to approach Karnataka Administrative Tribunal before approaching the high court.

It may be recalled that Ranganathaiah had filed a writ petition in the high court on April 28 requesting the court to stay the state government’s decision to transfer Krishna to his post without placing him in another post, and Krishan had reported to work on April 27. The high court had stayed the transfer on April 28.
