Karnataka governor HR Bhardwaj has sent a report to the Union home ministry citing the reasons why he sanctioned prosecution against state chief minister BS Yeddyurappa.

The report said the governor had sought 93 documents from the state government to verify the claims of two lawyers who had complained about the chief minister.

Bhardwaj said he had given 17 days time to the state government which then provided only 80 documents.

The remaining 13 were provided by the lawyers who had got the same by exercising the Right to Information Act.

"I have given sanction on the basis of analysing all 93 documents," he said in the report.

A combative Yeddyurappa today ruled out his resignation over the grant of sanction for his prosecution by Bhardwaj.
