‘I’m revealing Veerappan’s all political connections’

Wife of late sandalwood smuggler Veerappan is going to reveal the names of the politicians with whom the forest brigand was allegedly associated. She is writing a book on his life and it has all the details about his ties with politicians.

She said a manuscript of the book, of 654 pages, has been sent to New Delhi for copyrights. She said she had yet to select a title for the book, adding that it would be published in Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam.

She claimed that Veerappan used to extend monetary favours to politicians of Karnataka as well as Tamil Nadu. That is where the money earned by smuggling sandalwood was spent, she said, adding that she had revealed the names of all such politicians in the book.

Muthulakshmi compared her late husband to Robinhood, saying that he used to help local people in need. She termed him a good person. She said when he had kidnapped Kannada matinee idol Rajkumar, he had demanded that Karnataka and Tamil Nadu government punish police officers who were violating human rights and torturing people in the name of discharging their duty.

She said she knew everything about his life in forests right till his death, and all the details would be revealed in the book, which would soon hit the stands.
