The high court on Friday adjourned hearing housing minister V Somanna and his wife Shylaja's anticipatory bail plea to 14 December.

The Lok Ayukta special court on November 22 had directed the Lok Ayukta police to conduct investigation into a private complaint filed by Krishna Reddy, a software engineer.

Reddy had alleged that BS Yeddyurappa, during his tenure as chief minister, had misused his power to secure undue advantages for his aides, including Somanna and others.
Further, the complainant alleged that Somanna floated a trust, VSS Educational Trust, at Vijayanagar in October 2010 to cover up the ill-gotten wealth.

The minister is the first trustee and his wife Shylaja is the second.
Somanna and his wife filed anticipatory bail in the high court contending that they had no role in the denotification order by Yeddyurappa.

They said they would suffer irreparable ignominy and hardship for no fault of theirs if arrested on false allegation.

They added they were individuals having considerable status in the community.

They said the complainant had not produced any documents or materials in connection with the alleged offences.
Hence, they sought anticipatory bail.
