Governor HR Bhardwaj has once again locked horns with the state government by refusing to accept the Justice Somasekara commission report on church attacks.

Representatives of the Christian community have already rejected the report and demanded a CBI inquiry.

Speaking at Hindustan Academy in Marathalli on Saturday, Bhardwaj said: “The report submitted by the Justice BK Somasekara commission is one-sided. I had rejected the report completely, but state government is ready to accept it. What can I do?” “The report should not be accepted at all. The government is on the verge of accepting the report. I don’t think it will listen to my words,” added Bhardwaj.

“Karnataka is known for secularism and people are known for their humble nature. But it is unfortunate that such developments are taking place. The Christian community has contributed to the state’s development. But it has been targeted by some groups,” he added.

Taking exception to the commission report, representatives of the Christian community, on Friday, held a protest and submitted a memorandum to Bhardwaj and chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, and demanded a CBI probe.
