Wife pays supari to get other woman killed

Police have finally cracked the murder case of a 42-year-old beautician who was brutally murdered in the city on February 22.

The victim Nirmala was murdered in her beauty parlour in KR Puram by a 13-member-gang, who clubbed her to death. The gang fled after stealing her jewellery.

Investigations revealed that Nirmala was having an illicit affair with Ramesh. Ramesh’s wife Savitha found out about the affair. This led to frequent quarrels between the couple. Savitha warned Nirmala to stay away from her husband.

Nirmala and Ramesh, however, continued their affair. A furious Savitha discussed the issue with her cousin Anil, 29. The duo hatched a plan to kill Nirmala. They paid Rs.4 lakh to Anil’s friends and asked them to kill her.  As planned, the gang entered Nirmala’s shop on the pretext of being customers.  They killed her and fled with the jewellery.

After investigation, police zeroed in on Savitha. When they went through her phone records, they found that she had made several calls to Anil.  When the police interrogated Anil, he confessed to the murder. Police have recovered the stolen gold from the gang.

Student, shop staffer die in fight over a girl

Two youngsters died in a gory gang war in Rajajinagar on Saturday. The deceased have been identified as Kishore, a student of KLE College, and Keshava, a cyber cafe attendant. Investigations revealed that the two men were in love with the same girl, a high school student, who stayed in the vicinity.

Keshava used to stalk the girl every day. When this caught Kishore’s attention, he confronted Keshava and warned him not to come in his way. Keshava was not willing to listen and continued to stalk the girl.

An infuriated Kishore discussed this matter with his friends and decided to teach Keshava a lesson. They went to the cyber cafe where Keshava was working and confronted him. After a heated argument, Kishore’s friend Renuka attacked Keshava with a butcher’s knife. Keshava died instantly. In turn, Keshava’s friend attacked Kishore with a lethal weapon. Kishore too fell unconscious. He was later taken to MS Ramaiah Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.

Rajajinagar police swung into action and arrested eight youth in this connection. “We’ve filed a murder case and we are investigating,” said deputy commissioner of police (North), HS Revanna.

Man murdered by brother-in-law

A 35-year-old scrap dealer was shot dead by his brother-in-law in the wee hours of Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Jamshed Sherrief, a resident of Mico Layout. Investigations revealed that Sherrief ill-treated his wife, Asma. Blaming her for not producing children, he sent his wife to her parent’s house in December.

Aslam, the prime accused and elder brother of Asma, made several attempts to reconcile the couple, but in vain.

On Friday, Aslam met Jamshed in a prayer hall and told him that he wanted to talk to him about Asma. Jamshed asked him to come over to his house.

Aslam, along with his two brothers Akram and Amjad, came to Jamshed’s house at 9 pm. After a heated argument, Aslam, in a fit of rage, pulled out his licensed revolver and fired two shots at Jamshed.

While one bullet missed Jamshed, the other hit his chest.

The brothers immediately fled and the neighbours, who heard the gunshot, shifted Jamshed to Sagar Apollo Hospital on Bannerghatta Road where he breathed his last at 8 am. While Aslam surrendered with the weapon and confessed to the crime, Amjad and Akram are still at large.
