To help micro and small companies in Electronics City area, the Electronics City Industries’ Association (ELCIA) organised a trade show on Wednesday.

Urban development department additional chiefsecretary, KM Shivakumar, said: “A gathering of this level is extremely helpful to exchange ideas. Such interactions are unique and a good platform for small and micro companies to interact with industry captains.”

ELCIA vice-president Aruna N said due to lack of interaction among the companies in the area, they end up importing products that are being produced in their neighbourhood, and are available for lesser price.

“There are small companies set up in Electronics City, and usually, they do not know about other firms in the vicinity. Hence, they are not aware of their products,” said Aruna.

Erkadi Systems is one such company. Though Erkadi manufactures various medical instruments at a low price, it is still having difficulties in finding customers.

“Our equipment match global standards. However, as there are no proper standards set in India, we find it difficult to sell our products,” said KY Ashok Murthy, managing partner, Erkadi Systems.
