Sirajin Basha, the complainant, recorded his statements before the 23rd additional city civil and sessions court judge Chandrashekar B Hipparagi. The court had already heard two allegations, while the third came up for hearing on Tuesday.

Yeddyurappa is accused of misusing his powers while he was holding the portfolio of the urban development department which included the total control of Bangalore Development Authority.

The complainant accused the chief minister of criminal breach of trust by illegally amalgamating public road measuring 47,972 sq ft in Vyalikaval House Building Cooperative Society, Nagavara Layout  with site no 1 to 10, to benefit Davalagiri Properties and Developers Private Limited, the company owned by his sons and son-in-law.

With the amalgamation of the public road, the chief minister made unlawful monetary gain of Rs16 crore, causing a total loss of about Rs26 crore to the state exchequer.

The first complaint accuses Yeddyurappa, his sons BY Vijayendra and BY Raghavendra, son-in-law RN Sohan Kumar, Dhavalagiri Property Developers Private Limited owned by his family members, and SN Krishnaiah Setty, MLA of Malur.

Meanwhile, a senior counsel from the Supreme Court, appearing on behalf of the complainant Anoop Choudhury, sought the recording of the cases on a day-to-day basis.

“Chief Justice of India, SH Kapadia has directed that corruption cases be taken up on priority,” he said. The court, however, posted the orders on this requisition to March 16.
