Corporate India does not want to play spoilsport for the match every Indian is waiting to watch. Companies are going out of their way to add to the excitement over the India-Pakistan clash on Wednesday. It will be flexi-working hours, television screens and snacks at work to minimise productivity loss on March 30.
Sports brand Reebok has placed 42-inch LCDs in all sections on every floor of its office.

“For us, this is an exciting reason to celebrate as a team. There couldn’t have been a better opportunity for this than the much-awaited India-Pakistan semi-final,” says Sajid Shamim, director (sales & marketing), Reebok India.

Bharti AXA General Insurance has also tweaked its office timings for Wednesday. “Since everyone is cricket-crazy, we chose to change our timings from 9am-5:30pm to 8am-2pm,” says Chirag Buch, the company’s HR chief.

“We expect folks to start their day early; finish work by the time the match begins and enjoy it on a big screen in the ADITI cafeteria,” said Niranjan Nelamangalam, vice president, people department, ADITI Technologies.

The HR division of IT consulting and services firm Torry Harris has plans to set up a projector to beam the match in the company cafeteria.

SAP Labs is organising cricket quiz by Joy Bhattacharya and a leadership talk by former England captain Nasser Hussein a day before the face-off. On the matchday itself, the company would be screen the match live across its facilities.
