The applications for Common Entrance Test 2011 for admissions to professional courses will be available from March 5.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will print the applications-cum- brochures once the state government gives the nod. Following the intimation from the advocate general about the consensual agreement case, which is coming before the Supreme Court on February 25, the state higher education department has announced the date of issuing applications on Friday.

Considering the second year PU board exams scheduled from March 17 to March 30, the department has extended the time of issuing applications by one month. Earlier, KEA used to restrict the issue of applications to 15 or 20 days.

“We will issue the applications from March 5 to April 5. General candidates will have to pay `650 for the form. For SC/ST candidates, it is Rs500,” said VS Acharya, higher education minister.
