CBI, investigating illegal mining activities in Karnataka, today served notices on 65 mining companies including those owned by tourism minister G Janardhana Reddy and his family members seeking details on iron ore exports, among others.

The CBI has asked the mining companies to furnish by February 18 details on quantum of iron ore exports by them since 1998, number of transport permits obtained by them and also documents on their mining lease grants, official sources said here.

The investigating agency also sought details of transaction (to be furnished by February 18) these companies made since 1998, details of directors on their board, monthly and yearly returns on their business, the sources said.

The CBI team concluded its three-day inspection at various mining areas of the district today.
