Opposition leaders in the legislative council on Monday pulled up the BJP over dissident activities that was evident in the recent past.

Opposition leaders Motamma and MC Nanaiah objected to ministers not identifying with chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda.

“Your own partymen say BJP-led government. Why don’t they refer to it as Sadananda Gowda-led government? Why does Gowda keep saying ‘this government’? Why would he hesitate to say ‘my government’ instead?” said Nanaiah.

Gowda sat in his chair, flashing his trademark smile while his colleague home minister R Ashoka maintained that these problems are common in politics and has been there since the period of the kings.

Motamma further pulled up the government for the absence of agriculture minister Umesh Katti.

“He was seen in New Delhi recently,” she said, referring his trip to New Delhi with former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa.
JD (S) leader Basavaraj Horatti said that there are two parties within the BJP.

He stated that ministers Udasi and Shobha Karandlaje belonged to one party while ministers Ramdas and Visveshwara Hegde Kageri belonged to a different party.  “Minister Ashoka is playing safe,” he added.
