In a shocking daylight murder, a 38-year-old employee of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) was brutally killed while trying to park his two-wheeler in front of his office on JC Road on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Muthyalu, a resident of Chandrappa Nagar on Bannerghatta Road. He was working as a peon in the death and birth certificate division of BBMP. Police suspect that the Muthyalu was murdered over old rivalry.

He was allegedly involved in two cases of attempt to murder in Adugodi police station and other petty crimes registered in other police stations.

Police have registered a case of murder and picked up some people, who were involved in his fights with Muthyalu, for interrogation. “We have clues about the incident and we have taken a few suspects into custody. We will arrest the accused as soon as possible,” said an investigative officer.

The incident occurred around 11.30 am when four men allegedly attacked Muthyalu with knives when he was trying to park his two-wheeler. The gang slit his throat and stabbed his face, before fleeing the spot.

Colleagues reached the spot after hearing Muthyalu scream. Kalasipalyam police rushed to the spot and shifted him to Victoria Hospital in a goods autorickshaw as the ambulance failed to reach on time.

However, Muthyalu was declared brought dead. The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
