In what the police suspect is an act of revenge for the death of his 16-year-old son, a man has been accused of killing his friend in Lakshman Rao Nagar, Koramangala, on Sunday.

The police have taken Andrew and his three friends into custody for allegedly hacking John to death. Andrew’s accomplices were also friends with John. The incident occurred in front of the 45-year-old victim’s house. He was attacked with machetes.

John and Andrew were friends till tragedy struck on October 28. Andrew’s son Daniel died after jumping off a building in Lakshman Rao Nagar. The tragedy occurred when he was playing with John’s son Robert, 14.

The two boys, along with others in the locality, were performing stunts by jumping on a heap of sand on the road. Daniel landed on his head and died instantly. This led to misunderstanding between Andrew and John as the former suspected that Robert pushed his son to death.

Ever since, Andrew was waiting for the right time to get even with John. Around 12.30pm on Sunday, Andrew took three of his friends and assaulted John. John was residing with his wife in BWSSB Colony, Lakshman Rao Nagar.  However, their children did not stay with them. The body was handed over to the family after postmortem. A case has been registered in Adugodi police station.
