Bangalore blasts accused is among India’s ‘most wanted’

The list of the 50 most wanted terrorists, which India has handed over to Pakistan, includes Rashid Abdullah alias Abu Rehan alias Wali alias Abdul Aziz, an accused in the July 25, 2008 serial blasts in Bangalore

Abdullah, accused number 22 in the case, is a resident of Gulistan Colony in Faisalabad, Pakistan, said the city police.

Police investigations revealed that he was involved in the conspiracy and funding for the low-intensity explosions that killed one person.

The police said Abdullah, along with accused number three Nazar, attended a conspiracy meeting in Muscat that planned to plant bombs in Bangalore. After the meeting, Abdullah returned to Pakistan.

He contributed Rs3 lakh for the blasts after reaching Pakistan. Investigation revealed that he sent Rs3 lakh from Pakistan to Muscat. The money then reached Kannur in Kerala. CCB police collected evidence to show that Abdullah had contributed money to fund terror. Nine persons, including Abdullah, are wanted in the case. Of the 22 arrested, nine are from Pakistan and one from Bangladesh. Four persons are Indians.
