Auto drivers to go on strike on June 23

The Federation of Karnataka Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union (FKARDU) on Wednesday held a procession from Bannappa Park to Town Hall demanding 35 kg rice to autorickshaw drivers at Rs2 per kg.

The Federation of Karnataka Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union (FKARDU) on Wednesday held a procession from Bannappa Park to Town Hall demanding 35 kg rice to autorickshaw drivers at Rs2  per kg.

They also demanded that education qualification for giving license be removed and not to book murder case for deaths due to accidents.

The union protested against giving 40,000 new autorickshaw permits in the city and torture from RTO officials. FKARDU said it would hold a nation-wide protest on June 23 to protest against inflation. It would also go on a state-wide protest on July 18. The union members also conducted a conference at Town Hall.
