Three cases of suicide were reported in the city since Monday. In the first incident, a 42-year-old woman working as a teacher at a private high-school ended her life by hanging in her house at Shankaranagar on Monday night.

The deceased, Shanti, was a native of Tamil Nadu and working at East-West High School in Rajajinagar. Her suicide came to light on Tuesday morning. The police said left behind a suicide note, which read that she was responsible for her death.

Police investigation revealed that she was a divorcee and was depressed because of the upheaval in her life.

In another incident, a 21-year-old youth ended his life by hanging at this uncle’s house in T Dasarahalli on Tuesday evening. The deceased, Naveen, did not leave behind a suicide note. The body was handed over to his family after postmortem.

In Hanumanthanagar police limits, a 22-year-old youth working as flower decorator committed suicide by consuming poison, reportedly because he was not able to bear his mother’s death. The deceased, Mahesh, had recently lost his mother to illness and he was depressed.

He consumed poison in the wee hours of Tuesday and started complaining of stomachache to his family members.

He was taken to nearby private hospital, where he breathed his last on Tuesday night.
