Two construction labourers were killed on the spot after cement bricks fell on them from the fourth floor of an under-construction building in Parappana Agrahara police limits on Sunday morning.
Both the deceased—Harikrishna, 42, and Neelam Dharme, 40—were natives of Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu. Assistant commissioner of police (Madiwala sub-division), H Subbanna, said the incident happened about 11.30am when workers at the site were shifting the bricks to the fourth floor. The bricks were put in a box that was being pulled up. When the box reached fourth floor, it hit a wall and the bricks came down crashing on Harikrishna and Dharme. Both died instantly owing to head injuries. The bodies were handed over to their families after postmortem. Preliminary investigation revealed that a person named Munireddy owns the under-construction building and the contractor is Perumal.

The police are investigating if the incident happened because of their negligence or if it’s an accident.
