Ashiesh Roy passed away at 55 due to kidney failure on Tuesday.
After suffering from kidney ailment since early this year, Ashiesh Roy passed away at the age of 55. The actor who was a popular face in the television industry breathed his last at his residence in Mumbai at 3:45 am. As per reports in The Times of India, Ashiesh's funeral will be held in the late evening on Tuesday. His sister Kanika will be coming from Kolkata for the last rites.
Talking about his death, actor Tina Ghai also told TOI, "We are grief-stricken. We have activated the Zonal heads at CINTAA. There is a problem in acquiring the death certificate too as he passed away at home."
In his career of nearly four decades, Ashiesh has starred in several television shows and movies. Moreover, he was also a popular dubbing artist and his voice was loved by many.

During the coronavirus lockdown, Ashiesh required an urgent kidney transplant and he had asked his colleagues from the television industry for help. Talking about the same, Roy had stated to the Times of India, "I had to take a discharge from the hospital because I had no money to pay for the daily expenses of the hospital. Also with Covid-19 the risk of infection is high so it's better that I visit hospital only for my dialysis, so I can either afford dialysis or the hospital expenses."
