Golden Globes 2018: 6 facts you didn't know about the awards
Golden Globe Awards for the year 2018 will make history when celebs will walk the red carpet wearing all black ensembles and 'Times Up' pins to show solidarity towards the victims of sexual harassment. Men are also going for black tuxedos and the fashion world is frenzied making last minute changes. Nevertheless, the award ceremony will honour the best and brightest of the showbiz and many of the Hollywood bigwigs, for example, Meryl Streep for The Post, is nominated along with rookies like Greta Gerwig for Ladybird.

1.14 years without a host
The Awards began in 1944, but surprisingly ran for the first 14 years without a host. In 1958 that Rat Pack members Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. became the first unofficial host as they took over the stage themselves. (AFP)

A single Golden Globe statuette is exactly 10.75 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide. It costs about $800 and is plated in 24-karat gold. (Reuters)
