World Cup 2019: Defying all the odds, Gulbadin Naib’s Afghan boys came out all guns blazing. They restricted India to a total of 224 for eight.
Chasing a 225-run target, a couple of decent partnerships saw Afghanistan in an easy position to win the match. However, India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah - who picked up two wickets in three balls - changed the course of the match.
Being six down, veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi held the key for them. Taking Afghan single-handily towards victory, it was dangerous to keep him on the pitch.
However, India fast bowler Mohammed Shami took charge in the death over.
Needing 16 runs off six balls, Nabi scored a boundary down the ground. Soon MS Dhoni was seen talking to the bowler and it all changed for India.
Shami registered a hat-trick in the last over. He dismissed Nabi (52), Aftab Alam (0) and Mujeb Ur Rahman (0). Afghanistan got bundled out on 213 in 49.5 overs.
