Kabir Singh, the remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy, has been in news for quite some time now. While the movie has made Box Office records, it is now constantly in news for the controversy it has created. The movie features some scenes which are objectionable.

When asked about the same in an interview, director of both the films Sandeep Reddy Vanga went on to defend his movie Kabir Singh on Saturday. He said that there is no emotion if a guy cannot slap his woman. This statement, of course, enraged many people.

However he received support in Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel, who went on to claim that Alia Bhatt's character in Gully Boy in fact was more violent and criminal than Kabir Singh. However this isn't the first time when Rangoli has attacked Alia Bhatt, or when Alia Bhatt's performance has not been appreciated by her family.

Here, take a look at why it was rather predictable that Rangoli could make such conversation about Alia Bhatt:

Sandeep Reddy Vanga in an interview on Saturday went on to defend the slap in Kabir Singh saying it is a form of love. Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel not only backed his claims but even went on to compare Kabir Singh to Alia Bhatt's Gully Boy character, calling the latter 'more violent and criminal'.

2. Kangana Ranaut too had called Alia Bhatt's Gully Boy performance 'mediocre'

“I am embarrassed...What is there to beat in Gully Boy performance ....same snappy muh phat girl... Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media have taken filmy kids love too far. Stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised,” Kangana Ranaut had told BollywoodLife in an interview.

Before the release of her debut directorial film, Kangana Ranaut had expressed disappointment in Alia Bhatt. The disappointment soon grew into anger and Kangana lashed out at the Raazi actress, asking her to 'grow a spine' and 'stop being Karan Johar's puppet'. For the uninitiated, Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut are at loggerheads even since her nepotism comment on his show 'Koffee With Karan'.

Within a few days, in April this year, Rangoli lashed out at Soni Razdan by tweeting, ''These non Indians who are living off this land, using and abusing its people and its resources, lying about intolerance and spreading hatred, time to think about their agenda and not to get carried away with their provocations.''

In another tweet around the same time, Rangoli also went on to reveal that Mahesh Bhatt 'threw a chappal' at Kangana Ranaut during the premiere of Woh Lamhe after she refused a role in his film as a suicide bomber.

Kangana Ranaut slammed Ranbir Kapoor for not taking a political stand. At her Manikarnika success bash, she said, "Ranbir Kapoor is behaving like an irresponsible citizen. Being a star, he should take charge of and educate the public about these matters. Many stars, including Ranbir, have given the country a lot. However, they are irresponsible actors."

When MidDay asked Kangana yet again about her statement on RK, she replied, "Of course he did. He said, "I live in luxury". These are people who feel absolutely exclusive, saying one has nothing to do with the rest of India. This is the kind of attitude that Karan Johar and gang thrive on. And a lot of negative PR about me has been happening from these people. Maybe you don't know, but I know who gives out news [about me]. That's why whenever I do something; it is to put them in their place."

After Kangana spoke about people trying to do her negative publicity, Rangoli Chandel in her tweets went on to bash Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor for trying to do negative publicity of Kangana Ranaut. Rangoli, in her tweets, hinted that it was Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor who leaked the viral video of Kangana Ranaut riding a mechanical horse on the sets of Manikarnika. Prior to that, Kangana Ranaut had told Mumbai Mirror in an interview, "I know who released that video. Two other actors of the nepotism gang were also learning horse-riding at the same place as me. They practised for one day and got so sore that they didn’t return. I was galloping and doing all sorts of stunts. The wooden horse was only used for close-up shots. Just because they cannot ride a horse they got jealous of me and released the video."

In his recent interview, Sandeep Reddy Vanga called claims towards Kabir Singh 'bizzare', defended that pseudo-feminists were talking about the film negatively. He went on to say, "Intimidation has its own charm. Did you feel Preeti felt threatened when he was kissing? Why didn't she slap him? And she slaps him a lot without a reason. Kabir has a reason to slap. If you can't slap, touch your woman wherever you want, kiss, use cuss words, I don't see emotion there. There's nothing unconditional about that then. It's all conditions."

Sandeep Reddy Vanga received a lot of backlash post his interview. They defended their stance by stating, "Mental or physical abuse is regressive, not true love." Actor Gulshan Devaiah went on to show him the middle finger on Twitter, and a leading Telugu actress Samantha Akkineni went on to post the interview as her Instagram story with the caption 'deeply disturbed'.
