Former actress Mayoori Kango, also known as the 'Ghar Se Nikalte Hi' girl, has achieved a huge feat and has become the industry head-agency business at Google India!
An actress every 90s kid grew up watching, be it in TV shows or movies, the popular 'Ghar Se Nikalte Hi' song's blue-eyed girl, Mayoori Kango has achieved a feat like no other. She has been appointed as Google's top executive in India.
Mayoori Kango, who made her debut in Bollywood in 1995, has an inspiring story which everybody needs to hear. She left IIT Kanpur mid-way to become an actress, left the industry post her marriage and went to USA, and now she is back in India as industry head-agency business at Google India.
Talking about how actresses trying to be intelligent are looked upon, Mayoori had told TOI in a previous interview, “Every time a new client sees me, they have the same question – ‘How come you are here?’ I have answered it so many times that some colleagues suggested that I record the answer. But I have to prove myself in every new meeting as people have a notion that actors are not intelligent. I have worked hard to make people take me seriously. People should complete their education before they come looking for that big break in Bollywood. Especially the actress, their career in the industry lasts only around ten years. Have a backup option.”
1. Was supposed to study IIT Kanpur

Luck really played a lot of games with the former actress. Mayoori Kongo was supposed to study IIT Kanpur but she left it midway to pursue her passion for acting.
2. Movie career

Most remembered for her song 'Ghar Se Nikalte Hi' opposite Jugal Hansraj, Mayoori Kango made her Bollywood debut with the National Award winning film 'Naseem' (1995). Post that she appeared in movies like Papa Kehte Hain, Betaabi, Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet, Badal and Papa the Great. The former actress even worked with the likes of Ajay Devgn, Anupam Kher, Arshad Warsi, Shakti Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rani Mukerji, Chandrachur Singh and Jugal Hansraj.
3. Switch to Television

After making her career in Bollywood, Mayoori made a switch to Television. She appeared in some successful TV shows like 'Kaahin Kissii Roz', 'Kittie Party', 'Kkusum' and 'Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat'.
4. Balancing marriage and education

Mayoori has perfectly balanced her wedding and yet gaining an education. She got married to Aditya Dhillon in 2003 and pursued an MBA in marketing and finance from City University of New York-Baruch College – Zicklin School of Business.
5. Mayoori's previous jobs

Mayoori made her second innings in USA as an associate media manager in New York City-based digital agency called 360i. She worked there from 2004 to 2012. She has also played the role of a managing director of Performics, Digitas as associate director, media and Zenith as Chief Digital Officer.
6. Where she is currently

Mayoori currently resides in India. She shifted back to her homeland after giving birth to her son. Settled in Gurgaon, she shuttles between Mumbai and Bengaluru for work.
