On Wednesday, Gautam Gambhir made full use of his local knowledge to trounce hosts Delhi Daredevils by eight wickets at Ferozeshah Kotla ground to end Kolkata Knight Riders' four-match losing streak.
Chasing 161, skipper Gambhir along with opening partner Robin Uthappa put up a 106-run stand. Gambhir stayed till the end scoring a 39-ball half-century and fell only when his team was 10 runs short of victory.
The Delhi batsmen lacked momentum despite knocks from JP Duminy (40*) and Dinesh Karthik (36) who also hit an unorthodox scoop off Kallis for a six over fine-leg.
