Madhya Pradesh government has transferred Dewas Deputy Collector Sanjana Jain, who was allegedly in a row with the state Tourism Minister Tukoji Rao Pawar during last year's Assembly elections.

The government yesterday issued Jain's transfer orders and posted her to the state training institute, official sources said today. She has been posted as Deputy Director, RCPV Naronha Academy of Administration here, they added.

Jain, as an election officer, had declined to accept Pawar's demand to reject the nomination papers of Congress candidate from Sonkatch Assembly seat in Dewas district. The Minister had allegedly abused and threatened the bureaucrat, but she stood her ground.

Pawar was later arrested. The Election Commission had showered praise on Jain for her courage in discharging poll-related work without any fear or favour, sources said.
A few days back also, both Jain and Pawar, the Tourism Minister, had an argument on the issue of raiding a shop, the sources said.
