A Delhi court has allowed a school teacher, who was discharged in a case of running a prostitution racket, to take back articles including some CDs seized from her house.

Delhi police had seized a cell phone and 20 compact discs from the house of Uma Khurana, the school teacher, at the time of her arrest on August 30, 2007, for showing as running a prostitution racket in a fake sting operation.

The court, however, had discharged the teacher of Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya here on November one 2007 after the police gave her clean chit in the FIR registered against her with Darya Ganj police station.

Chief metropolitan magistrate Kaveri Baweja allowed the application of Khurana's counsel Amit Kumar who submitted that the seized articles were no more required as police had already filed the chargesheet in the case following the completion of their investigation.

The Delhi police also did not raise any objection to her plea.

"It is submitted on behalf of the state that there is no objection if the application is allowed and the articles seized from the possession of the applicant are ordered to be released," the court said.

Khurana, who was suspended by the Delhi government, was later reinstated last year.
