Andhra Pradesh government is making all arrangements to bring back the body of slain Indian software engineer, who was working with scam-hit Satyam Computers, from the United States.

"We have made all arrangements to bring the body," Energy minister Mohd Ali Shabbir, who looks after issues related to Non-Resident Telugus, told reporters here on Friday.

Expressing concern over the growing violent attacks on Telugu professionals in the United States, he said the state government has decided to take up the issue with the American administration through the Indian embassy.

"Attacks on Telugus are on the rise. Through the Indian embassy, we are urging the American administration to take steps for their safety," Shabbir said.

Vishal, an employee of Satyam Computers, was shot in his legs and a thigh on Tuesday by suspected Afro-Americans at Little Rock in Arkansas state of the US. He succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.

A 20-year old man "strongly suspected" to have killed Vishal was arrested by the American police. The Little Rock Police is interrogating the suspect in connection with the killing of Vishal.

Name and other details of the arrested suspected assailant have not been released yet by the police. However, the media in America identified the arrested person as 20-year-old Brandon Johnson.

The attack on Vishal is the seventh case in the US of young students and professionals from the state being killed in the last 14 months.
