Medical student found dead in hostel room

A medical student of Banaras Hindu University was found dead in her hostel room last night in a suspected case of suicide.

VARANASI: A medical student of Banaras Hindu University was found dead in her hostel room last night in a suspected case of suicide.
    
Police suspected Shaili Tyagi, a MD (anaesthesia) student from Ghaziabad, had injected poison through drip.
    
Shaili was staying in room number 85 of Kasturba Gandhi hostel of BHU and was last seen by hostel inmates while taking tea at the hostel mess on Monday morning.
    
Afterwards, she stayed in her room while music coming from her room could be heard till late night. On Tuesday evening, one of the hostel inmates knocked her doors but finding no reply she reported the matter to the watchman of the hostel.
    
When the watchman broke into the room, Shaili was found lying on her bed with drip. The matter was immediately reported to the police.
    
The body was sent for post-mortem after informing her family in Ghaziabad.
    
During initial investigation, the police found it to be a case of suicide though no suicide note was recovered from the room.
    
Police said only further investigation could establish if Shaili, whose thesis was to be submitted in anothe four months, was passing through depression or any other problem would become clear after further investigation.
    
Meanwhile the parents of the student arrived here this afternoon but they were tightlipped. However, Shaili's husband who is also a doctor pracitising in Moradabad, did not reach here in spite of the information of her death.
