Shikha-Mashona in Japan Open 2nd round

NEW DELHI: Shikha Uberoi and her American partner Mashona Washington defeated Marta Domachowska and Klara Zakopalova in straight sets to advance to the second round of the USD 175,000 Japan Open Tennis Championships in Tokyo on Wednesday.
    
The Indo-American pair pipped the Polish-Czech duo 6-4 6-4 in the opening round of the Tier III hard court event.
    
Shikha and Mashona broke their rivals twice in the first set and once in the second to seal the issue.
    
They next face second seeded pair of Vania King of America and Tiantian Sun of China.
