KOLKATA: CBI officers have interrogated a person, who has claimed to have seen computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rahman being kidnapped from Khanna crossing in north Kolkata by four persons on September 21, the day on which he was found dead.

Indranil Ghosh, a resident of Ajoynagar in the northern fringes of the city, claimed in an interview to a private television channel yesterday that he had seen four persons pushing a person (who resembled Rizwanur) into a green taxi which sped towards Ultadanga.

"I was standing at the crossing when I saw four people along with Rizwanur alighting from a yellow taxi and then pushing the man into a green taxi. The taxi then drove off towards Ultadanga," Ghosh said.

Just after the interview, Ghosh was summoned by CBI officials at their make-shift office at Nizam Palace here and interrogated the whole night.

CBI sources, however, refused to divulge the details of the interrogation.

An unknown person had in a letter to CBI on Wednesday claimed that he has seen Rizwanur being kidnapped.

The CBI is yet to confirm any relation between Ghosh and the person who had written the letter.

The body of Rizwan, who had married a Hindu girl from an influential business family, was found on the railway tracks near Dum Dum on September 21. Although the government initially ordered a CID enquiry, it later handed over the case to CBI following a High Court order.
