MUMBAI: St Joseph’s Umerkhadi struck late in the second half as they held Victoria High School, Mahim, to a 1-1 draw in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association under-14 inter school football tournament, at the Azad Maidan here on Monday.
This was their fourth match this year, with two wins and another walkover already recorded.
“It has been a good showing so far by this young side, who are just 13 years old,” said their coach Melroy D’Cruz. He especially applauded the good work of Milton Menezes and Pragnesh Solanki.
Victoria went 1-0 up early in the first half, with Jason Fernandes lobbing one over the advanced St Joseph’s custodian. But the boys from St Joseph’s Unerkhadi hit back, thanks to Milton and Pragnesh who helped their team to maintain an undefeated run in this championship.
