The Pune Rural Police have begun interrogating twelve history sheeters owing allegiance to the Wadari and Katkari gangs of robbers, operating in the rural hinterlands of the district, in connection with the attack on Mali family by robbers on Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

Pune Rural SP Manoj Lohia said that its Local Crime Branch (LCB) has started interrogating the twelve history sheeters attached to the two gangs. " The gangs belong to some tribes, their members are history sheeters and have been involved in armed dacoities in the past. We are tracing their locations from the day when the incident took place and Caller Detail Records (CDR) have been sought from the service providers," he added.
Lohia further cautioned that it would be too early to comment on whether they were actually involved in the case.

Reshu Mali and her 12-year-old daughter Vedika were attacked and robbed of their cash and valuables worth Rs 1.25 lakh during wee hours on Monday. The mother and daughter were in their car parked near Taje Petrol pump when they were attacked by four highway robbers. The suspects broke the window of the locked car and attacked them with rods and stones. Reshu who is a resident of Ganga Costella in Kharadi later lodged a complaint at Wadgaon Maval police station in connection with the robbery.
