Appealing to farmers in Maharashtra to not resort to suicide, NCP President Sharad Pawar asked them to instead make it difficult for the rulers to breath.
Batting for complete loan waiver for the farmers in the state, the NCP President, who is also former Union Minister for Agriculture, on Tuesday criticised Devendra Fadnavis-led state government for maximum suicide of farmers. He said that it was the 'shameless' government which had two different standards for the farmers in two states.
Addressing the concluding rally of the 5-day Sangharsh Yatra in Panvel, Pawar said that loan waiver was the only solution for growing farmer suicides in the state. He criticised the BJP Government for its double standards of providing loan waiver to Uttar Pradesh farmers and depriving Maharashtra farmers, leading to their suicides.
All the senior leaders from the Opposition, including leader of Opposition in state assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, Dhananjay Munde, Ashok Chavan, Ajit Pawar, Narayan Rane and Sunil Tatkare were present at the rally. All the leaders pleaded for complete loan waiver for the farmers in the state.
