The 30-year-old woman, who lives in the western suburbs, was recently called to a hotel in Dahisar by the accused on the pretext of some official work.
A man allegedly raped a woman in a hotel after spiking her drink, shot a video of the act, hacked the woman's social media accounts and posted the video online.
According to the police, the 30-year-old woman, who lives in the western suburbs, was recently called to a hotel in Dahisar by the accused on the pretext of some official work. This is where the woman alleges that the accused, Yogendra Bhagwal, spiked her drink. After she lost consciousness, the accused went on to rape her and video recorded the act. On regaining consciousness in the evening, the woman was shocked to find herself in the condition.
The complainant stated that she was threatened with defamation by the accused which is why she kept quiet about the abuse and did not approach the police. However, the woman said that after a few days the accused hacked her email, Twitter and Facebook accounts and uploaded the aforementioned video online from her profiles.
Based on the statement made by the victim in her complaint, she was shocked to learn from her friends that her videos in a compromising position have been making the rounds on social media. Horrified by the development, the woman then narrated the incident to her parents who gave her the courage to approach the police.
"We have registered a case and are in the process of verifying the claims made by the woman," said a police officer from Dahisar.
The Dahisar police have registered a case of rape against the accused and transferred the case to Kashi Mira police.
