CM Devendra Fadnavis directs SRA to evict Meghwadi slums to set up police station, colony

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed slum rehabilitation authority officials to evict the slums to pave way for construction of police station and police colony.

Residents in adjoining areas of Meghwadi in Jogeshwari East would have a sigh of relief since long pending demand of having separate police station would be fulfilled now. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed slum rehabilitation authority officials to evict the slums to pave way for construction of police station and police colony.

Minister of state (MoS) for Housing Development Ravindra Waikar had requested the Chief Minister to evict the slums so that long pending demand of having Meghwadi Police station can be fulfilled. Waikar in a letter to Chief Minister had pointed out that out of 2028 square meter land reserved for police station and police colony, slums have been built on 579 square meter space.

Chief Minister Fadnavis has directed slum rehabilitation authority officials to evict slum dwellers and include them in project affected persons to provide them houses so that they can be rehabilitated. Waikar had pointed out that financial provision was also made for constructing police station and police colony. 

Chief Minister has directed the officials to immediately take action in this regard so that slum dwellers would be rehabilitated and construction for the police station and police colony would also start.
