The association, on behalf of the residents living in the eight buildings: Kachwalla Mansion, Haven Building, Haroon Court, Yusuf Manzil, Mohammadi Chambers, Lobo Mansion, Court Royal And Star Mansion in the Christ Church Lane, have been writing and coordinating with the police for the problems faced by them.

A major nuisance is that of young boys and girls of schools and colleges creating a ruckus in the Christ Church Lane. These students smoke cigarettes, talk loudly and we also suspect them of indulging in drugs in the back of the lane. We have been coordinating with the police for resolving this and the cops have increased patrolling with their beat marshals. We are hoping to see more proactive action from them.
We have also been coordinating with the E-ward for gutter cleaning, fumigation, cleaning of the storm water drains and other work that has helped with the upkeep of the neighbourhood, especially during monsoon. The ward has been extremely cooperative regarding all these issues and ensure that the work is done.

We have experienced major traffic chaos in the lane. It’s a one-way lane with entry from the Mirza Ghalib Marg and exit at Sir J.J. Road. There are two schools in the vicinity—the Christ Church School and the St. Agnes High School. Both schools contribute to a large part of the traffic as parents and drivers come to drop and pick up the students. In order to avoid the traffic jam, they take a short cut into the Christ Church Lane entering from Sir J.J. Road, which is a no-entry lane. Christ Church School has plenty of place for private taxis to park in their own school and they should allow parking in their own compound. They should realise that by allowing them to park and pick up from the school premises they will be doing a great favour of not disturbing the nearby residents. We have recently written letters to the traffic department requesting them to act on this and we are expecting their replies.
