Hair alert: What styles can you don for wedding functions

Getting jittery for your marriage D-day is justified. And to help you stop worrying over your hair too much, we tell you what hairstyle to don for the several wedding functions...

Sangeet
This is one of the most vibrant events, says make-up artist Preeta Puri. “So it is essential that you wear your hair in a style that you are most comfortable with. Maybe a casual knot or a simple girly pony tail would be a right fit,” she says.

Mehendi
Hairstylist Akshata Honawar suggests that you wear your hair away from the face and neck. “The hair should be definitely tied up so that you don’t have to worry about them through the hours of having mehendi on. Also, a casual, lose hairstyle with some texture in the form of waves would be perfect for the occasion,” she says. 

Wedding
The emphasis here is on the face and the make-up more than the hair, says Akriti, a salon owner. So the hair needs to be pulled back, maybe into a bun. And since you mostly have a dupatta over your head, the bun can add height and volume.

Reception
This is one function where the bride can bring out her individual style through her hair. “I would suggest a modern hairstyle with few lose curls. It could be tied up or left half open. This is also one function where she can accessorise her hair in accordance with her outfit,” reasons Akshata.
