Congress candidate Vivek Dhakar on Tuesday filed nomination paper for Mandalgarh assembly poll. Dhakar, a close aide to AICC general secretary CP Joshi, had lost the assembly election in 2013 and party showed trust on on him again.

Soon after this, a rally was organized by the party to showcase the party's strength. It was addressed by Sachin Pilot addressed. Pilot made scathing attacks on the state government taking a jibe at the chief minister Vasundhara Raje.

“The state lagged behind in the past four years. The BJP government instead of launching new schemes stalled progressive schemes launched by Congress government which reflects that the government has not done anything regarding development of the state. Even the BJP which had coined ‘Achhe Din’ for the masses took anti-people decisions,” said Pilot who appealed to the gathering to vote for Dhakar in the bypoll.

Pilot also raised the issue of farmers' loan waiver in the rally and accused Raje government of cheating the farmers. “Close to 80 farmers have committed suicides across the state in recent. Youth are unemployed and women are victims of growing atrocities. Even though the government failed to take steps to provide relieve all of them,” said Pilot in the rally which was also attended by former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and AICC general secretaries - CP Joshi and Avinash Pandey. Earlier, Pilot and Gehlot altogether reached Mandalgarh from Jaipur through road.

Poll code violation

Congress has accused the state government and its administration officials of violating the Code of Conduct. A delegation of Congress leaders headed by general secretary Susheel Sharma handed over a memorandum of complaints to the Chief Electoral Offices (CEO) on Tuesday. They alleged that CM Vasundhara Raje and her ministers through government advertisements are making populist announcements which violates the code. Moreover, Kekri deputy SP Rakesh Pal Singh and Nasirabad deputy SP Motaram Beniwal are putting pressure on people to vote for the BJP. These officials should be transferred too, said the memorandum.
